Background & Overview
ADP Precision Engineering was formed in May 1999. The Directors have over 50 years experience in the engineering trade, specialising in all areas of technical expertise, including quality, sales, marketing and finance.
ADP were moving into new, larger premises. The original factory floor had been painted by their staff over a few years. However, they wanted a hard wearing, easy to clean floor in their new factory with non-slip walkways in their work zones.
“After using Prep-Rite several years ago, we had no hesitation in using them once again to recoat our floors. Alan and his team carried out a first class job with minimum disruption to our business, they arrived on time & carried the work as agreed and we couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out! Thanks again Prep-Rite.“
Anthony Ingledew, Director, ADP Precision Engineering
Approach
Firstly, the old painted floor needed to be removed. This was accomplished by dust controlled diamond grinding back to clean, sound concrete to remove all old coatings. We then vacuum cleaned the area of approximately 750m2 and installed a two-coat system of Prep-Rite Shield SF High Build Epoxy.
We applied Prep-Rite Tect V line marking materials at 100mm to ADP’s specifications and added ADD 250 very fine aggregate into the Dark Grey walkways to give a minimum non-slip property whilst still ensuring it was easy to clean.
Results
The project timescale was 4 days prior to our client moving in. This was completed in time.
We were approached by ADP again 2 years later in November 2020 as they wanted to change some of the layout in their factory. This was completed over 2 weekends to alleviate downtime. Once again, our client was very happy with the end result.
